The HyperStar System allows extremely fast and wide field CCD imaging with the Celestron SCT 14-inch, by allowing you to integrate a camera seamlessly into the telescope's setup. The lens replaces the secondary mirror on Fastar-compatible 14-inch SCTs and turns the telescope into an f/1.9 imaging system, seamlessly shifting a visual piece into an imaging one! The HyperStar 14 is compatible with a variety of cameras, including Canon and Nikon DLSRs, SBIG ST-7/8/9/10/2000 series, and cameras from Starlight Xpress, SAC, Orion, Meade, and the popular StellaCam video system from Astrovid. This model includes the Filter Slider and appropriate adapter for sliding it into the setup- allowing you to rapidly switch between multiple filters in a single viewing session without troublesome installation and un-installation; you can slot filters in and out of the slider without uninstalling your camera or anything else save the filter with a convenience and ease that is simply splendid. It's simple to use, too- an intentional design choice for your convenience and pleasure in use. The filter holder slides easily into the main body, and tapered edges guide the filter holder into place for easy switching of filters in the dark. Once fully inserted, the filter holder is held in place securely and precisely. Rounded notches on the outside of the filter holder make it easy to grip with your fingers to remove the holder.
